Japan’s Children’s Day is celebrated on May 5th every year.

While the girl’s festival is known as “Momo no sekku” the boy’s festival is called ”Tango no sekku”.

On Children's Day, families with boys hang up “Koinobori” outside their house , and display the Japanese armor and the helmet inside the house.

On Children’s Day, we usually eat "Kashiwa-mochi".

”Kashiwa-mochi” is a rice cake wrapped in a Japanese Emperor Oak leaf.

It is said that Koinobori symbolize the desire for children to become brave and strong indivuduals.

Parents pray that their children will grow up healty and strong.

It is a special day set aside to respect children’s personalities and to celebrate their happiness!
